WELCOME TO FAR HORIZON LODGE
Far Horizon Lodge is nestled in the tiny village of Banners Rest in Port Edward, on the Lower South Coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal. Our Guest Lodge is well appointed to take advantage of the diverse inland and seaside attractions and activities which Port Edward is renowned for.
The lodge has a large veranda where the guests can sit and enjoy their breakfasts and dinners. The Guest Lodge is slightly outside of the village of Port Edward, therefore you will not experience the holiday traffic.
We provide plenty of secure parking, with security guard patrols at night. Half of the premises also consists of an Eco Park that we are currently working on and practicing certain "green farming methods", in the Eco park is also a caravan park available for campers and an Eco Training Centre too. There are numerous places of interest in the area of Port Edward. Popular places to visit include the following places, Wild Coast Casino Water World, The Red Desert Conservation Area, Umtamvuna River, Old Pont and many more things to do and tourist attractions in close proximity to the Lodge.

ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation at Far Horizon Lodge consists of 7 units/apartments which are self catering units although they can be modified into B&B units on request. Our units also have DSTV available.
We also have an Eco Park on the half of the premises, which is where our caravan park is situated. The Eco Park is a project that we are currently working on and practicing methods, such as "the green farming methods", recycling, organic farming, solar power systems and many more. This allows an opportunity to raise awareness on environmental issues to the campers and visitors.
Elderly Accommodation.
We are offering spacious one bedroom apartments for elderly couples (over 60's)
Price per couple is R4000.00 pps or R6500.00 for couples.
The lodge is 20km to the private hospitals, such as Margate Hospital & Shelly hospital, the doctors are available within a short drive to Port Edward +- 3km, and the local clinic/chemist provides most of the chronic medication which we collect where necessary.
COFFEE SHOP & ANIMAL FARM AREA
Far Horizon Lodge, recently launched its own Far Horizon Coffee shop, situated in the grounds of the lodge. Our catering staff, is (ex Lighthouse staff member) Katie, who has over 10 years of experience in the catering and hospitality industry. Our meals are all reasonably priced , from the budget breakfast through to scrumptious meals in the evenings. Come and join us at a coffee shop with a difference.
CONFERENCING
Far horizon Lodge, welcomes companies and businesses wanting a relaxing environment for their staff conferences and meetings. We offer an air conditioned conference venue with proxima facilities, wireless internet access, ideal for small groups of about a maximum of 20 delegates.
Coffee is served throughout the day, breakfast, light lunch and/or an evening meal.

TOURSWe at Far Horizon Lodge, would like to welcome guests to the area, to take part in an adventure with a difference, there is a little known desert nestled within the Umtamvuna Conservancy area, which has long been known to locals of Banners Rest, but not generally known to the broader public. The few guests who have taken the plunge and walked with us from the lodge, to the Red Desert site, have been overwhelmed by the experience. (We have included a few of these intrepid travelers blogs)
