Welcome to

While we offer numerous other interesting attractions, Crocworld’s main draw card is, of course, our 10 000 Nile Crocodiles. Dwelling in ponds - amid beautiful surrounds - these ‘descendants of the dinosaurs’ range from cute newborn hatchlings to 100-year-old mammoths.

Come eyeball to eyeball with these awesome creatures feeding. Learn all there is to know about these ‘living fossils’ that have terrorised man and beast on planet Earth for the last 230 million years.

Among other exciting Crocworld displays are local and exotic birds, mammals and reptiles, including interesting collections of Snakes, Alligators, African Dwarf Crocodiles and African Long-snouted Crocodiles.

Allow yourselves a few hours to meandering along the wooded paths and enjoy the flora and indigenous bird life that abounds. Better still; break your visit over a relaxed lunch or light refreshments at our fully licensed a la carte Crocodilian Restaurant, with its spectacular Indian Ocean views. Then browse through our Curio Shop and discover all kinds of goodies, including Croc leather products.

Although barrier rails separate you from the fence. The "NO HANDS" signs mean just that … “Look Ma, no hand!”

< Meet ‘Henry’the heaviest and oldest known crocodile in captivity. Arriving at Crocworld in 1984, he’s estimated to have been born in the late 1800s. Today he measures 4.8 m and weighs in at over 750 kg.
These large predators are our breeding stock.

GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE TREETOP HOUSE

Situated in our indigenous dune forest, George of the Jungle's Treetop House is fun for children and adults alike. Here you view exotic birds and mammals from a 7-meter high walkway, while also enjoying magnificent Indian Ocean views.

With most George's House ‘residents’, both mammals and birds, originating from South and Central America you will delight in free-flight Macaws, the always-nosy Rhea, stunning Caribbean Scarlet Ibis and many more colourful bird species live here; as do the Coatis, cuddly bear-like mammals and the Cotton-Top Tamarin are always fun to watch at play.

WETLAND & CYCAD GARDEN

RAPTORS’ AVERY

Up to 3-stories high and covering over 1 000 m², our walk-through Raptors’ Avery is the largest in Africa. Sharing it with several other companions is Isis, our magnificent hand-reared Fish Eagle. Treating all visitors as her family, she’ll fly the length of the cage to greet you.

Viewed from raised boardwalks, Wetland and Cycad Garden is a new Crocworld feature.
Gushing waterfalls; statuesque Flamingos; Tortoises and Terrapins; exotic and indigenousfree-flying water birds and Kingfishers, sweeping down to catch fish in the ponds, all impart a wonderful feeling of peace and tranquillity. Currently boasting 30 magnificent specimens, the Cycad Garden features plants indigenous and endemic to the Southern African coastal belt - some well over a hundred years old.

SNAKE TUNNEL & FRESH WATER AQUARIUM

Crocworld's Snake Tunnel and Fresh Water Aquarium affords you exciting close-ups of some of Africa's most venomous snakes and breathtaking tropical fish. The Green Mamba breeding program is of special interest, as is our collection of exotic species - include Anacondas over 3 meters long!

The fresh water aquarium is the largest of it's kind in South Africa, holds 60 000
litres of water and a varied collection of Cichlids from the Great Lakes of Africa.
